Joe Syntax

Joe Syntax is a London based musician. He moved from the West Country to start a Graphic Design course where the big city fuelled his passion for music production. Joe’s interest in music stemmed from an early age when he would make his own tunes using his Yamaha drum machine and keyboard, he then started played with loops on his dads old PC. From these humble beginnings Joe bought his first pair of turntables at 16; turned to music production aged 18 and never looked back, producing many styles from breakbeats and techno to more experimental down-tempo.
The music his parents listened to influenced his musical tastes as a child; he grew up with the sounds of King Tubby and Brian Eno through to more contemporary acts like Leftfield, Massive attack and The Orb. The influences of these eclectic musical choices resonate in his music. Experimental drum patterns, synthetic bleeps, heart-warming soundscapes and deep baselines – all contribute to Syntax’s innovative sound.
Joe Syntax has recently been gaining attention within the scene, with recent signings to Tom Amaning’s label B.I.O.S Recordings; Midlands imprint Hustle Audio and more in the works. He has also been also had support from many established drum & bass artists and DJ’s including Radio 1’s Fabio. Joe aims to continue by making a name within the industry through DJing and pushing his productions ever forward. This won’t be the last you hear of Joe Syntax.
